BenQ fields a total of six short-throw projector models tailored to the needs of Taiwanese families. Offering different focal lengths and advanced features across the board to give consumers a range of choices so they can meet their particular home theater requirements, these projectors have been well received by both the media and the market. In Q4 2013, an advertising and publicity campaign for BenQ’s short-throw projectors kicked off, using a theme emphasizing that consumers could enjoy a big-screen experience without needing to remodel their homes. The campaign playfully contrasted the hassles of installing a projector in the past with the benefits of the short-throw technology in BenQ’s projectors, appealing to the many consumers for whom the ability to easily enjoy big-screen 100” Full HD video even in a small living room holds great appeal. A creative broadcast ad referenced the movie Marvel’s The Avengers, with dialog that brought out the idea that with BenQ’s short-throw projector, consumers can project a 100” Full HD video from a distance of just 1.5 meters, leaving consumers both impressed with the projector’s capabilities and amused by the way they were conveyed.
