Performance by executives
The festivities began with the performance of a Taiwanese folk opera featuring members of the executive team. To prepare, they rehearsed long and hard, aiming to impress and entertain everyone. The performance won enthusiastic applause, and got the event off to a rousing start.
Performance by colleagues
Five weeks of rehearsals culminated in an exciting performance by our colleagues. Cheers were heard without interruption, as colleagues showed their skills in jazz dances and percussion pieces.
During rehearsals, the seriousness and sense of purpose everyone brought to the effort was much in evidence. There was laughter, but also sweat. In rehearsal after rehearsal, the team’s shared sense of purpose grew, finally culminating in a brilliant performance.

Each company made a product presentation and its main objective was that resellers knew the DLP technoogy and its differences and advantages compared to the LCD technology. This activity was useful for BenQ since it met new customers and displayed all the projector product line.

BenQ Thailand continued to cooperate with local partner attending Thailand Game Show 2013 in Bangkok from Jan. 11 to 13. Over 100,000 visitors were attracted to visit the annual biggest gaming event in Thailand. This year, We sponsored League of Legends (LoL) tournament with 160 units of RL2240H - 10 units for stage competition, 150 units for experience area. The estimated numbers of spectators to visit LoL competition were more than 20,000 and around 5,000 visitors had experienced our RL2240H during 3-days event.

Taiwan's Institute for Information Industry (III) cooperates with National Central University (NCU) and has signed an agreement with Vietnam's Advanced International Joint Stock Company (AIC) to build 2,000 integrated e-learning "smart classrooms" in Vietnam. In this project, AIC will use products manufactured by Taiwanese IT vendors and BenQ has been selected as the trusted partner to provide projectors. III will assist AIC to integrate hardware and software service solution, including projector of BenQ, notebook PC of Acer, Smart board of HaBook, and 2 million login accounts of English learning offers by LiveABC. The project runs smoothly and the first 220pcs are successfully installed. From this project, BenQ can move forward to take education market leading position in Vietnam and even catch potential business.

BenQ馬來西亞投影機發表會 (BenQ Successful projector launch in Malaysia)
1/30,我們在馬來西亞舉辦投影機發表會,向經銷通路商介紹BenQ新產品的主要功能3D與SmartEco等等。
On Jan 30th, BenQ Malaysia hosted a successful Media and Dealer meeting. To show its ambition to Malaysia market, BenQ introduced full range 3D projector to meet different demands and invited media and partners to join a launch event. For conducting an effective meeting, the event had been separated into two sections, and the first section was exclusive for media and the other was for BenQ partners.
In this launch event, BenQ Malaysia introduced 3 key technologies: lamp free, SmartEco and 3D feature with nine models. After this event, BenQ Malaysia has collected many positive feedbacks from media and partners, and looks forward to seeing the event stirring the market and triggering more business opportunities.

Projector-window, a popular Chinese website devoted to all things projector-related, published a detailed profile of BenQ’s MX662, covering its design, video performance, and usage scenarios. The website called the MX662 “an extremely capable projector that delivers perfect picture quality”. In addition, another projector-focused Chinese website, PjTime.com carried a review of the MX662 that recommended the projector, enabling even more people to know about the MX662’s excellent performance.

The “Mount Everest” Net Cafe chain was the first branded enterprise in China’s Henan province to acquire the know-how to operate a franchised business based on online services. Its main businesses include running a chain of Internet cafes, integrating resources, licensing franchisees, providing support services, and offering online games. The company has already become Henan’s largest operator of Internet cafes, with around 40 branches located throughout the province. Following up on the Internet cafe conference it held in the city of Pingdingshan last 8 December, BenQ took part in Mount Everest’s annual meeting on 9 January. Around 100 cafe owners were on hand for BenQ’s briefing on regionalized Internet cafe operation. The event was a terrific opportunity to promote our large-screen monitors, gaming-focused models, and bundles.

CHIP is a print magazine widely respected in the industry, and has been a key partner for IT vendors. However, CHIP has ultimately placed an even greater emphasis on evaluating product performance rigorously, and has thus been able to maintain a reputation for fairness among readers. Late last year, the magazine interviewed monitor product manager Vito Chen, who detailed BenQ’s development directions. He discussed BenQ’s focus on market segmentation and attention to the user experience, giving readers a clearer understanding of BenQ’s strategies.

On 13 January, BenQ held a gaming tournament in the hands-on area for BenQ gaming monitors at a large computer retailer in Shenzhen, China. A large number of expert players from the Shenzhen high school gaming circles participated, leading to fiercely contested matches. The competition drew the attention of many customers, who gathered as spectators to view the action. Through the event, the BenQ gaming monitor hands-on area gained publicity among high school gamers, as did competitions that will be held there in the future. Distribution of flyers enabled other people to know about the gaming community that thrives in Shenzhen high schools, and to gain awareness of BenQ’s gaming monitor hands-on area, providing a boost to second-tier distributors.

In January, BenQ China monitor PM Vito Chen gave an exclusive interview to digital products-focused website PCPOP.com. Prior to the actual interview session, PCPOP’s sales director and display channel editor-in-chief spoke with Vito about the flicker-free panel concept and BenQ’s product roadmap for the coming year. The sales director has always understood BenQ well, and strongly approves of our customer experience-centric product R&D approach, which coincidentally matches up well with PCPOP’s “fun IT” message. BenQ’s Vito Chen recently participated in the 170th edition of ZOL’s online monitor expert feature. Vito engaged in an enthusiastic discussion of BenQ’s flicker-free panel technology with editors and the online community, presenting a thorough analysis. Because Vito and the editors are well acquainted with each other, the discussion proceeded very smoothly. ZOL’s editors approved of BenQ’s product positioning, while online users expressed great interest in the flicker-free panel concept. After two public hands-on events for the W1070 in Beijing, BenQ publicized a hands-on event with follow-on hands-on reports and popularity rank-raising effort for the W1070 on high-traffic websites ZOL and PCPOP. These online activities not only sustained attention to the W1070 from members of the online community who had attended the hands-on event, but also broadened the scope of publicity and raised interest further. ZOL and PCPOP independently selected three users who had written especially high-quality reports, rewarding them with prizes. The W1070 reached the home appliance forum’s top ranking, gaining 1.04 million hits and 230,000 comment posts, representing the highest level of interest in the discussion forum’s top-ranked product that had ever been achieved, maintaining the online buzz around the W1070.

A computer desktop design competition on the PConline discussion forum came to a successful conclusion after online members’ individual Photoshop design skills and bountiful imaginations demonstrated that BenQ’s VW2230H (178 series) possesses aesthetic qualities that are fully evident in whatever environment it is found, complementing any home decor gracefully. Through this event, a wide spectrum of users was able to witness the 178 series monitors’ distinctive features. Moreover, by assimilating this series’ monitor models into users’ own lives and recreational activities, we were able to create a viral appeal. Online pages on the event as a whole drew 128,819 views, with 210 users posting to participate. The forum has already announced a list of award winners.

截止一月末,中國各區域:河南商丘、浙江衢州、浙江台州等地陸續開展了以「花開遍地 同享富貴」為主題的龍年答謝會。答謝會以新品花開富貴及Candy為主題展示介紹。其中,浙江衢州的核心管道夥伴將近200家代理商出席了會議,到場人數接近300人。
At the end of January in various locations throughout China, such as Shangqiu in Henan province, and Zhechiang province’s Quzhou and Taizhou, BenQ China held its annual business summits for the year, using a theme of shared prosperity. The summits included exhibitions of new products and the Candy desktop peripherals set. Among the individual summits, the Quzhou event was particularly well attended, with nearly 200 key distributors represented by the almost 300 persons in attendance.

ARAB HEALTH was hold from 2013 January 28 to 31, this exhibition gathered over ten thousand attendance, and international medical companies. And it is also the most important exhibition to get into Middle East and ARAB market. BenQ Medical Technology exhibited our latest LED surgical light and the MIS surgical table, completely showed the highly technology and friendly design of our products. 義大利的設計工作室TWINTIP,在2012年將工作室搬遷到熱鬧的米蘭市中心。由於TWINTIP經常需要作團隊創意發想,因此空間的色彩、燈光的設計所營造出來的氛圍格為重要。在與負責裝潢的主持設計師溝通需求過後,BenQ幫TWINTIP規畫了T8 LED燈管與BenQ LED平板燈解決方案,以電腦工作區採用冷白T8 LED燈管、與創意發想空間採用暖黃LED平板燈的搭配設計,不僅真正符合TWINTIP工作團隊的照明需求,新辦公室的節電相較於舊辦公室更將近65%,且BenQ T8燈管與平板燈產品壽命長達35,000小時,是傳統螢光燈的4倍以上! 因為壽命長,品質好,維修更換的成本也減少了!

BenQ Taiwan held a product launch event for our large-screen narrow-bezel VA LED series televisions on 16 January. The new monitors highlighted were the 65” and 50” models in the RV series, notable for having the narrowest bezels of any domestic brand large-screen TVs. Bringing together a large screen, beautiful narrow-bezel design, and BenQ’s exclusive VA LCD panel, these new TVs attracted great attention from the news media, demonstrating the considerable brand power that BenQ has in the Taiwanese television market.
