BenQ asked men with jobs and families rhetorically how long it had been since they gotten together with their buddies for some rabble-rousing fun. Then we invited them to share some laughs and maybe a few teary nostalgic moments with their friends watching the World Cup on a big-screen TV. It was a gift to hard-working dads with a nod to their wild youth, and their still-young hearts. It was a real campaign, and this is a complete documentary of what happened.” So goes the preface to a video of BenQ’s World Cup-themed event on behalf of our flat-panel TVs, drawing the interest of target consumers so they would watch and winning them over with a sense of identification with the men in the video. The Youtube video has been viewed more than 200,000 times since it was uploaded, while links to a Facebook page for the video has received more than 500,000 hits. The video itself was shared by more than 1000 users.
