Fun office-chair races are the idea of shops in the Japanese city of Kyoto. Local shops in one of the city's shopping districts, upon discovering slowing sales, organized office chair races in 2010 to create buzz and attract traffic. Since then, the races have been held for seven consecutive years. The chairman of the shopping district's merchants association has always wanted to expand this fun event, and last year discovered that a group in Tainan, Taiwan had similar ideas. Through contacts with the Tainan city government, he obtained the agreement of shops in the city's Zhengxing Street to organize an international event.
BenQ show girls were on hand, using the 4G LTE QC1 sports camera to provide a live broadcast. Even people who were not on hand for the event could watch on Youtube as if they were right there. In addition, they could experience the event from the even more exciting perspective of contestants who were wearing a QC1 on their persons to capture views of the action that were truly up-close and personal.
