Top Gaming Performance with BenQ XL2730Z and XL2430T at Grand Finals of IEM Season 9 and ESL One CS:GO
From March 12th to 15th, BenQ joined the Grand Finals of Intel Extreme Masters Season 9 and ESL One CS:GO, an elite global professional gaming tour organized by Electronic Sports League (ESL). This highly-anticipated events gathered the world’s best gamers of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft II and League of Legends and gaming enthusiasts and which once again took place in Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland.
This year, BenQ teamed up with Intel and ESL as well as with other partners, in ensuring that all stages and warming up areas meet and exceed world-class gaming standards, through providing more than 400 of its world-leading flagship professional gaming monitors, among which the BenQ XL2730Z, for Intel Extreme Masters’ Finals tournaments and the XL2430T for ESL One Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which also took place in the same location.
“Try It Yourself” User Experience Set Up for Gamers and Fans at BenQ Stand
With the launch of BenQ’s flagship professional gaming monitor XL2730Z as the official monitor during Intel Extreme Masters Finals, visitors could also go for a hands-on “try it yourself” experience at BenQ’s stand with a pro gaming area set up for local competitions. In addition, the crowd gathered every minute of the day at the stand of BenQ to experience many activities like:
* EloHell competition looking out for the most good-looking Cosplay
* best liked phantasy photo contest at BenQ’s photo wall in co-operation with Soe
* lots of raffles together with IEM, ESL and Roccat to win BenQ gaming t-shirts, monitors and other small gadgets, communicated via social media resulting for BenQ: more than 35,000 new youtube subscribers, almost 48,000 new twitter followers and more than 27,000 likes on facebook
* various signing sessions with BenQ’s sponsored teams: Cloud 9 and Virtus.pro
At BenQ’s pro gaming area, visitors could face some gaming challenges on the new gaming monitor XL2730Z with various competitions like Pros versus Joes, Brawl free gaming and one-on-one games. In addition, the Most Valuable Players could also win some awesome prizes.
For those unlucky ones who were not able to attend Katowice event in person, they could closely follow all BenQ’s onsite activities on the BenQGaming Facebook page with numerous posts resulting in 5680 more likes gained in the end. While on BenQGaming Twitter the number of followers boosted to about 65,000 followers with an enormous increase of around 50,000 new followers. Also “Pasha opens Knife @ IEM Katowice 2015”, posted on youtube by BenQEurope channel got its massive attention with almost 600,000 views . And after IEM event ended, a humorous video was created internally and posted on BenQGaming, sort of story about gamers in “BBC Animal Channel” style which shows nature of pure gamers within their own environment, in less than 4 days it reached more than 115,000 people on FB.

Fan favourite Team SoloMid (TSM) took home the IEM title of League of Legends with clean sweep win (3:0) of Team World Elite (Team WE) at Season 9 World Championship 2015 in Katowice. While Joo "Zest" Sung Wook reigned supreme in the StarCraft 2 IEM Season 9 World Championship, he battled through a field of 16 of the best Protoss, Terran and Zerg players in the world. In the Grand Finals of ESL One Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fnatic defeated the Ninjas in Pyjamas 2:1, as they are cheered by the fans at Spodek Arena while lifting their second trophy at a CS:GO major as the first team ever to achieve this. As from April 1st, BenQ is the official monitor sponsor of IEM 2015 champion Fnatic!
Unfortunately the road to the Grand Finals ended too soon for all BenQ’s sponsored teams: last years’ IEM champion Virtus.pro from Poland ended in the semi-finals of CS:GO and Vox Eminor from Australia did not came further than the group matches of CS:GO. Cloud 9 from North America already failed in action in the group matches of LoL, while yoe Flash Wolves from Taiwan still made it to the semi-finals of LoL.

As four thrilling days of Intel Extreme Masters World Championship 2015 and ESL One CS:GO has come to an end with some impressive facts and figures. The Spodek Arena in Katowice was fully sold out and in total 104,000 visitors passed the gates. Overall the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship 2015 was a trending topic on social media with almost 100,000 tweets to #iem, #iemkatowice and #iem2015. While on youtube, those 54 videos had an incredible reach of more than 2,600,000 views. The streaming videos of IEM 2015 Grand Finals for LoL had its peak of more than 600,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch and SCII showed a peak of more than 150,000 viewers.
The CS:GO streaming videos on ESL One reached its peak with more than 1,000,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch and CS:GO TV. While Twitch had a peak of more than 1,350,000 concurrent viewers for SC2, CS:GO and LoL at the same time with some 30 million unique viewers. The Grand Finals was also covered by some widely viewed media like Sky Sports, BCC3 & BCC5 and of course many Polish broadcasting networks. On Twitter; CS:GO Grand Finals was a trending topic with more than 2 million impressions on daily basis.
