南京院區成功完成首例器官移植手術——「換帽子角膜移植術」
9月18日上午，南京院區應用高科技飛秒雷射技術成功完成首例器官移植手術，將患者的病變角膜和供體的正常角膜都製作成相同的「帽子」形狀，然後進行互換移植。它克服了傳統角膜移植需要手工切取角膜植片而產生的手術操作粗糙，成功率低，併發症高等缺點，為廣大角膜病患者帶來福音！

BenQ Medical Center organizes meeting for exchange of views with local medical institutions
On September 19, Nanjing BenQ Medical Center used the occasion of the establishment of our spinal treatment center to invite representatives of grassroots health care operations and institutions collaborating with us to a meeting to conduct academic exchanges. Department directors from these local organizations were able to better understand us, increasing the potential for referrals and promoting development of the health care market. Nanjing BenQ Medical Center successfully completes first organ transplant
On the morning of September 18, BenQ Medical Center completed our first organ transplant. Using high-tech femtosecond laser technology, doctors formed a patient's diseased cornea and the donor’s normal cornea into the same “hat” shape, then performed a surgical swap. The procedure overcame the need to manually cut the donor cornea‚ an approach that is marred by imprecision that leads to low success rates and frequent complications. Our success is great news for the many patients with corneal disease.
Laparoscopic procedure removes gall bladder polyps while sparing gall bladder itself
Nanjing BenQ Medical Center recently carried out our first laparoscopic gall bladder polyp surgery. The surgery offers far fewer risks compared to cholecystectomy, the removal of the entire gall bladder, allowing patients to retain gall bladder function. After just one or two days, patients can be discharged. The procedure greatly reduces the physical and psychological suffering of patients, making it the best choice for patients with gall bladder polyps.

On September 28, Ji Fang, a highly respected physician and professor who is head of the Department of Orthopedic Trauma at the Affilated Changhai Hospital of Second Military Medical University in Shanghai, chief physician, and doctoral student advisor accepted Nanjing BenQ Medical Center’s invitation to participate in a workshop on complex orthopedic trauma cases.
BenQ Medical Center holds massage event on Teacher’s Day
In order to pay tribute to our beloved lecturers, and express thanks for their toil in teaching hospital colleagues over the past year, BenQ Medical Center’s Department of Human Resources and the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at both the Nanjing and Suzhou branches jointly organized sessions of soothing neck massages for them. Nanjing BenQ Medical Center offers free checkups to residents of local community
On September 20 from 9 to 11 in the morning, Nanjing BenQ Medical Center, in response to an invitation from a local neighborhood, offered free medical exams at the Nanhu Plaza in the Jianye District. More than 150 residents had their blood pressure measured and more than a hundred received blood sugar tests. More than 200 pamphlets with health information were distributed as well.

Nanjing BenQ Medical Center holds fire safety training for all staffers
Beginning on August 18, BenQ Medical Center’s fire safety committee held 15 sessions of its annual hospital-wide fire safety training for all staffers. In all, 1499 people took part in the training, a participation rate of 96% overall.

The Health Examination Center organized a lecture on the topic of neck health on September 19. Unhealthy life habits, improper sitting and sleeping posture, physical trauma, and exposure to cold are the most direct causes of neck ailments, and the lecture provided guidance to the audience on how to prevent these ailments.
BenQ Foundation presents gifts on Teacher’s Day at local junior high school
On September 10, on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, the BenQ Foundation joined BenQ Medical Center’s benevolent association to present a special gift in celebration to the students and teachers of a junior high school in the township of Guabu in the Liuhe District of Nanjing: lunch fees totaling CNY7700 covering a full school term for 11 students, and a complete physical examination normally costing CNY500 for 70 teachers.
German high school students serve as volunteers for a day at Nanjing BenQ Medical Center
On September 11, five German high school exchange students from the Nanjing Foreign Language School along with two teachers came to Nanjing BenQ Medical Center to participate in a volunteering activity.
