BenQ supported the world’s best League of Legends and StarCraft II professional gamers at the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Season 8 Grand Finals for the most epic world championship tournament as being the official monitor sponsor for the third consecutive year. The company provided 107 pieces XL2420T and 65 pieces XL2411T monitors to this highly anticipated event, which took place from March 13 to 16, 2014 in Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland. In addition, BenQ also introduced the all-new XL2720Z to the professional gamers and gaming fans from all over the world at its consumer experience stand.

A huge crowd gathered each minute of the day at BenQ stand whereas the 10-person gaming area was constantly equipped with enthusiastics playing League of Legends, with support of Budda Play and Ubisoft. People could experience up close the all-new BenQ XL2720Z when playing on it. Also various fun activities took place at BenQ stand to entertain the crowd even more:
• Ubisoft brought in two champions for a Pro vs. Pro Duel of Champions online card game, but also to challenge and play with people in a Pro vs. Joe game to win some Ubisoft prize
• Adventurous seekers could go on treausure hunt at the venue based on hints given by vloggers on their popular channels to find the right location of the BenQ prize
• If people would wear a BenQ sticker with the text ‘Monitor for Champions’ on their shirts, they could win some BenQ goodies like hand clappers, t-shirts, pens and lanyards
• On a picture together with their most favorite Cosplay character of League of Legends
On top of this, BenQ’s sponsored team Virtus.pro became champion of CS:GO during the EMS Grand Finals in Katowice. With team members all Polish, Virtus.pro won the hearts of the cheering crowd when they came to the BenQ stand after their legendary match. They handed out autographs and threw out some goodies around and people could take pictures of them. The huge crowd around BenQ stand went crazy to see their local heros!

A new StarCraft II champion has been crowned, IEM USD 100,000 winner sOs takes all competition crowns as Protoss champion with a 4:1 win on herO. While KT Rolster Bullets team claim the world champion title in League of Legends and also the USD 60,000 first prize after a very clean sweap of 3-0 in the Grand Final against Fnatic.
In CounterStrike: Global Offensive by EMS One League, a Polish dream comes true! 11,500 plus 5 Poles take down NiP with 2-0 win, as the supportive crowd pushes Virtus.pro to the victory of first major CS:GO tournament of 2014. All Polish fans in the Spodek Arena plus over 230,000 at home saw the underdog Virtus.pro rise from the qualifiers all the way to the title and won the prize of USD 100,000.
